Before I say anything even menially relevant, I'm going to take this space for the embodiment of my feelings as to my computer finally being up and running. BUYKASHA! Now that that's out of the way, I'd like to thank you guys for being patient (who am I kidding, you probably haven't been to the site in weeks) with the lack of updates due to computer trouble/vacation time. Now that this beast of a machine is up and running however, as soon as I transfer all my files over from the old Dell I'll start production on new comics. Also, school starts the 25th, go Panthers!

Stuff didn't get posted, not my fault
Bleh, I've been out of town for a while so I asked Luis to post something for me on the site today... I came by to see what was new and he hadn't posted anything. Also the background is now blue for some reason? I dunno. Every time I try to get ahold of him there's no answer so updates have been lax in the coding area for some time now. As for the shortage of new content, maybe an update next monday; I get back on saturday and my week is gonna be pretty full with Pledging and this genius system of registering for classes at FIU and then recieving emails saying they've all been cancelled due to lack of students. Having been ridiculously swamped with work and Sigma Alpha Mu events (Rush Week and whatnot), I didn't exactly have time to draw anything on the computer, so last night before going to see The Dark Knight I sat down and sketched out a pic of the G Man from the Half-Life Series. Yeah, it's not the best thing in the world I know, but I did it in half an hour and since I have the next 3 days off of work I'll try to whip up something good for next week

New GPA Blues AND From the Desk of...
Yeah, I missed last week's update because I thought my new computer would be up and running within two days, yet here I am uploading on the ancient Dell... Life's funny like that. At least I'm double posting today to make up for it. I should be printing my FIU papers for Day 2 of Orientation (day 1 was a complete idiotic waste of life) or signing up for traffic school so they don't suspend my license, but I'm here updating for you guys instead. As soon as Luis answers my IM's I hope to have a few pics on the main page of a masterpiece that Bob and I drew out at around 2am a few days ago while we were hopped up on NOS and Mountain Dew. Unfortunately there's no comic next week as I'll be in Tallahassee and haven't drawn anything yet, but I WON'T let the site die again after all the work Luis put into it so check back on the following Monday or Tuesday (work has me going crazy on Sundays so I may be changing my update schedule in the future). PS, look into buying the book "The Truth About Chuck Norris: 400 Facts About the World's Greatest Human" by Ian Spector. For only $8 it's a quick read (less than an hour) chock full of legendary Chuck Norris jokes!

Sorry, no new comic this week, my computer is officially done for; it won't upload any images. Fear not though, I have my brand new beast of a computer built and ready to go (minus the OS) so I'll be back with a Terrabyte of space for comics within the week. I've been trying to upload for a while and I think this comp is at the end of it's days. Also, there's something Bob and I made an hour ago (it's 4 am now) that I'm very proud of... if you drive down W 60th street between 8th and 12th aves keep your eye on the turn lane for the product of 3am boredom and energy drinks. Pics will be up soon because it isn't permanent in any sense of the word

Once they're all evened out I'll see where creativity takes me. As for the site, I haven't really spoken to Luis since last Sunday, but we'll start fixing it asap. Well, technically I didn't. Happy 3rd AoD Day!
Well guys, It's been a VERY long time (almost a year) since I last updated anything that was even remotely connected to DanComics.net, but that is kind of changing... sort of. THIS is the official new home of the newly re-named Captain Random Comics! I went with a name change for 2 reasons; 1: I draw more than just "Dan" comics now, I have 4 (count 'em) separate strips; and B: I kinda lost the DanComics.Net domain name through bad planning. Back to the main point however, this is NOT the site that I was working on for oh so long! That site crashed and burned very early in the design process. This is a totally new site made in less than a week by a good friend of mine: Luis Lopez. Polymath Design is Luis' company, and he gladly took up the task of making an amazing site I could never even begin to comprehend, thus making my life so much easier. As for the Myspace post, I WAS technically telling the truth; DanComics.net is dead, and here to usher in the new age is CRcomics.com! There's a slew of new comics (and by 'slew' I mean 3) to peruse, and there will definitely be an update next week, so enjoy the revival of the newly re-named Captain Random Comics formerly known as DanComics.net!

WOW, been a while since I update, but It's honestly not my fault this time! AOL's been acting more retarded than usual, and I've been trying to load the site editor every day for the past 2 weeks to no avail. Luckily I caught the system on one of its elusive 'Lets-actually-work-for-once' cycles, and as a gift for your patience I'm going to double post! I don't like skimping out if I have the choice, so since I missed 2 weeks you guys get 2 comics. From the Desk of... #4 is one of my personal favorites, and the new AoD strip is another infamous multi-strip story arc... Let's hope I get through this one, huh?

Oops, I forgot to update this Monday! Oh well, I posted the comic late this week, but at least I posted it. Here's a new episode of From the Desk of... that's been itching to get drawn for a while. Hopefully I'll have time to draw more for this series, I really like the freedom I have to work with since there aren't any set characters or rules. I already have a comic to post on Monday, so if nothing is up by then remind me because I probably forgot about it.

Sorry about not updating in a few weeks, but it was definitely worth it. The reason the site has been buggy and unkept lately is because I've been rebuilding it from scratch so I could introduce my two new strips that I mentioned a while ago. All of the AoD comics are back online and in order, along with the 2 From the Desk of... strips that I had previously released. The next step is to make all of the archive pages, followed by the AoD character bios, then re-doing the Extras page. Also, next week is going to be the first episode of Misadventures, so don't forget to check back! Also, Ozzy left the staff so it's back to just me.

Wow... I kinda dropped the ball, didn't I? Oh well, I don't think it will happen again for a while considering what's going on lately. First of all, everyone welcome my first addition to the Dancomics.net staff, Ozzy! Since you're reading this, you can save your congratulations until you see him in person. Secondly, you may have heard that I'm going to draw a second strip from now on; This is semi true. There will be TWO new strips besides AoD. The first has been out for a while now, it's called From the Desk of... and is basically a collection of random drawings Ozzy and I approve for publication (Such as the Dixie Hicks drawing). The second is an all new strip called Misadventures, and its sole purpose is to depict the life of Captain Random throughout his escapades. For now, enjoy Episode 25.5 and refresh your memory on our current storyline!

Merry Christmas everyone!!! I decided against continuing the story-line because of 1 very important reason: as some of you may notice, there is no previous Christmas episode! That's right folks, this is the first official AoD Christmas, so live it up! Next Monday is newyears day, so I probably won't be doing story-line then either... don't worry, the story will get finished eventually. Hopefully I'm right this time
It has BEGUN! I started making the site on frontpage instead of AOL easy deigner... piece of crap. It's going to be a while before I finish remaiking the entire site, but when I'm done I can finally transfer it all over to my server and there won't be anymore of AOL's inflicted crappiness. That's right, no more ads, no more slow loading, no more lo-res JPegs and definitley no more image size restrictions, just AoD the way it was meant to be seen: without making a lazy person resize a comic. Anyways, I haven't decided if I'm going to make the character bios on Easy Designer since I'm just going to delete it when I finish the new site, but you may still get it if my server takes too long to set up. Also, no story-continuation on Monday, instead you get more SE filler. I have a good episode for the plot-line, but I have to release this SE before the opportunity disappears. Check back tomorrow to see it.

Well, after hours upon hours of trying to update the site, it finally let me in around 2 pm. Then AOL decided my format was too big and auto-shrunk the episode so I had to redraw it several times... Finally at 3:15 pm is when this piece of crap decides to work! Anyways, here's yet another of my attempts at sticking to a weekly schedule that's doomed to fail, I'm sure. Wow, it's been a while hasn't it? Well for those who don't know what happened, my Dell's power supply blew out and I haven't had an "Easy Designer" compatible computer since my last update almost 2 months ago. Also, my Mac has no drawing program on it so I haven't been able to draw any new comics in the downtime. I finally got the Dell fixed as you can tell, but it's acting buggy and shuts off randomly when I open certain programs. If it lets me, you'll see a new comic on Sunday. Another bit of bad karma leading to good news: the screen to my Mac crapped out shortly after my Dell blew out. What does this mean for you? We have a permanent server now: My Mac iBook! The transfer over will happen soon as I figure out how to host a site, so it shouldn't take too long. Peace out until Sunday!

Wow, it's been exactly 2 months since I've even looked at the website... I got really lazy over the summer after going to Vegas. Just know this, the school year is back and so is AoD! There will be a new comic on Sunday, and I spent all of today templating the site and fixing broken links, but I have some bad news. First piece is that unfortunately, the domain name dancomics.com was bought shortly before I could get it, so we stay on AOL's server for the time being. Secondly, I wont be starting a store any time soon because E-commerce is too expensive and I'm too busy to design an entire online store from scratch right now. Besides that, you should be able to expect normal operation from the site by Sunday. See you all soon!

it'll be a VERY long run
First of all, happy Father's Day to whom it may apply. Secondly, I've got a slew of news, good and bad alike. Let's start off with the good news since it's the reason for the bad news. I've recently discovered a format for pictures called .PNG which is very handy. It's about the same file size as a .jpg, but it looks alot cleaner (the comics will look prettier). This is good news for everyone because you'll see the comics as they were meant to be, and I won't hate the way they look anymore. The bad news: this is going to require alot of time. I probably wont be posting for a while since I'm going to renovate the site, and since I'm renovating I figure I might as well get it over with and move to a real domain now, which leads to more good news! We will soon officially be Dancomics.com! HOORAY!!!

Wow, it's been a while since I posted! What can I say, Summer vacation took me by storm! I know you've all been dying to find out who the hell Bill is, but I was in Disney World last weekend and couldn't post anything. Don't worry though, some good came of this: I had nothing to do the whole trip there and back but draw on my handy Nintendo DS! I've decided since I kept you all in suspense for two long weeks, I'm going to release 2-3 of these drawings daily for the rest of the week! Whoa, a bunch of stuff is going on! Alright, first things first: Friday was my birthday and Samurai's kicks ass! Secondly, Happy Mother's Day! Going along with Mother's day, I had a really funny idea for a comic, but it interferes with a bunch of other ideas I already had lined up; my theory is screw it, I think it's funny so I'm publishing it! This brings up several issues like "who the hell is that guy in the comic?" His name is Bill, and all will be explained next week... maybe. Anyways, since I'm doing this, the other 2 comics I mentioned last week will be postponed for 2 weeks. That's all for now!

As promised, Ep 17 is up. This comic was incredibly hard to draw for reasons I can't comprehend! I mean, look at it! Every frame is almost exactly the same! It shouldn't have been that hard! But it's done now, so that's behind me. Several options are coming up for next week: Yesterday was Monica(my sister)'s birthday and I have a funny experience from there, Friday is my birthday so I can make something that has to do with that, or I can simply finish the comic I've already started which makes several blasphemous statements! If anyone has a preference, let me know. If not, whichever is the easiest is what you'll be getting!

Before you call me a racist pig and tell me where I can put what, keep 2 things in mind: 1) this is a comic strip that is not to be taken seriously so chill out, and 2) I'M A FELLOW BEANER! That's right, I'm 100% Cuban, so shut your conclusion-jumping mouths! Anyways, sorry for the delay, but I thought it more appropriate to release it the day of the strike! By the way, I really haven't taken a side on this issue, but it looks to me like the strike didn't work out too well. It was a decent effort though, go beaners!

Hey guys, most of you may have noted some bugs in the site, broken links, and the fact that I didn't post anything last week. Blame all this on AOL's craptastic system. I had to bypass so much crap just to access this page and update the news section! Now I've gotta fix those broken links and whatnot. Well anyways, thanks to AOL I'm a week behind, and never got to post my St. Patrick's day SE, but there's always next year for that I guess... but have no fear, I'll post Episode 11 tomorrow if AOL decides that's OK with them! Oh and theres no Friday posting anymore, I sorta jumped the gun on that one and got overwhelmed by stuff to do. Well, It's almost the 22, so I gotta hurry up if I want this post to count for today. The about page is done, all the comics are REALLY uploaded, Dan's MySpace has been linked to the site, and I found a place to actually make products for the store. Good news, bad news
Alright guys, I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is I can officially say that the comic archive is up and running fully and flawlessly! Another note of good news is that I've re-vamped episode 1: The Shark with up-to-date Dan graphics. The bad news is that I'm running out of space for comics because this site is free and crap-tastic! Well, I now know for sure that Episode 10 will be loosely based on events from this Saturday (if you were there, this is about my failed attempt at a funny picture). Aside from the four unfinished pages I have (the ones marked on top), I'd say this site is coming along nicely!

Finally up and running
Well folks, as many times as it’s happened before, it's happened again. I changed my mind, what a shock! Episode 10 will no longer be late, or called Driver's license... now it will appear next Sunday on regular schedule thanks to our beautiful filler material: SE6. I'm releasing SE6 today, and those of you that watch the news, or just hate our government, will get a real kick out of it. On a lighter note - the site is finally up and running. All that's left to do now is upload every comic made and link them all together, write the 'about' page, and make extras and products for the matching pages. Yup, life's good!

Things seem to be going smoothly here at Dancomics.com so far. Today, we actually have buttons that you can’t click on, pages you can't link to, and images that won't load - a big step up from yesterday. Apparently, web pages are harder to build than I expected, and I have to build a whole site... fun times! Well, I still doubt that a comic is going to be released on Sunday, but be on the lookout during the week for Episode 10: Driver's License. First post!
WooHoo! This is the first day of existence here at soon-to-be Dancomics.com! So far we're running on sub-basics: None of the links work, No permanent layout has been designated, and our URL is currently hometown.aol.com/webshark1290 (but I’m sure you already knew that since you're here). I plan to have the basic site up by Sunday, so this means there may not be an episode this week : Sorry guys, but I had a mini-vote and the site won over a new comic. I'll see if I can at least draw an SE, but don't get your hopes up. Well that’s all I have for the first log here at soon-to-be Dancomics.com! Check back often to keep up with the times!
